Where Science Meets the Body’s Innate Intelligence

The tools we use in this practice have one thing in common: they all work with the body rather than against it. These specialty therapies are not interventions in the conventional sense — they are conversations. Each one listens, at a different frequency and depth, to what the body is already trying to do, and supports it in doing that more completely.

These therapies are available as standalone sessions or woven into your integrative physical therapy care, depending on what your body needs.

Avazzia Life Microcurrent Therapy

Your body runs on bioelectrical communication — nerves fire electrically, cells maintain charge to carry out repair, and the nervous system orchestrates all of it through patterns of frequency and signal. When pain, injury, or chronic stress disrupts that communication, the body’s own healing processes slow down. Our clinic uses that Avazzia Life Pinnacle Microcurrent Therapy uses ultra-low-level electrical current — so gentle it’s often unfelt — delivered through naturally occurring sinusoidal waveforms that speak the body’s own language, supporting cellular repair, calming nervous system reactivity, and encouraging tissue recovery in ways that build over time rather than simply masking symptoms.

Want to explore microcurrent at home? Dr. Carlone recommends the Avazzia Life Evolution for home use — a professional-quality device designed for consistent, daily support. For more information or to purchase, visit The SANA Shop.

Scalar Wave Therapy

Scalar therapy is an emerging, non-invasive approach that works with subtle energy fields to support the body’s natural healing processes. Unlike conventional electromagnetic therapies, scalar waves are described as multidimensional, standing energy patterns that may interact with the body at a deeper, informational level — helping to restore balance, improve communication within tissues, and support overall regulation. Often used alongside microcurrent and PEMF, scalar therapy is designed to gently encourage the body back toward optimal function, particularly in chronic or complex conditions where traditional approaches may fall short.

Scalar therapy is available as part of frequency therapy sessions at Align Renew Thrive.

Swiss Bionic iMRS Prime — Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)

Every cell in the human body is, at its core, electromagnetic. The Earth’s own magnetic field and the Schumann Resonances — the planet’s natural ionospheric frequencies — have shaped human physiology over millennia. When we lose contact with these foundational signals through modern living, sedentary patterns, and electromagnetic pollution, cellular function can become sluggish and recovery less predictable. We work with the Swiss Bionic iMRS Omnium, the world’s only six-dimensional PEMF wellness system, delivering the full spectrum of natural electromagnetic wave patterns — including brainwave entrainment — through a whole-body applicator mat as well as focused spot mat therapy Sessions are deeply restorative, often described as profoundly settling to the nervous system, and are used to support energy, circulation, sleep, inflammation regulation, and the body’s capacity for repair.

Somatic Movement Therapy

Somatics is the practice of learning to sense, understand, and move from within — restoring voluntary control over muscles that have become chronically tight or restricted through injury, stress, habitual posture, or trauma. Developed from the work of Thomas Hanna, clinical somatics recognizes that much of chronic pain originates not in damaged tissue but in the nervous system’s learned patterns of muscle contraction — patterns that stretching, massage, or strengthening alone cannot reach. Through gentle, slow, pandiculation-based movement (the neuromuscular equivalent of a full-body yawn), somatic practice re-educates the brain’s motor cortex, releasing tension at the source and restoring ease and range that patients often haven’t felt in years. At Align Renew Thrive, somatic movement is woven throughout sessions — not as a separate program, but as a living thread in every aspect of clinical care.

Myofascial Release (John F. Barnes Approach)

Fascia is the three-dimensional web of connective tissue that surrounds, supports, and connects every structure in the body — from individual muscle fibers to organs to bones. When it’s healthy, fascia moves fluidly; when restricted by injury, inflammation, or chronic postural patterns, it can generate up to 2,000 pounds of pressure per square inch on the structures it surrounds, contributing to pain, limited mobility, and impaired function that often doesn’t show up on standard imaging. Trained in the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach, Dr. Carlone uses sustained, gentle manual pressure — applied for minutes rather than seconds — to engage and release fascial restrictions at their depth, allowing the body to unwind patterns that may have been held for years. The results are often subtle in the moment and profound in their reach, restoring fluidity throughout the whole system rather than just in the area being treated.

CranioSacral Therapy (Upledger Institute Approach)

The craniosacral system — the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord — has its own rhythmic pulse, distinct from the heartbeat and breath. When this rhythm is disrupted by physical trauma, chronic stress, or accumulated tension in the central nervous system, the effects can be wide-ranging: headaches, jaw pain, chronic neck and back tension, nervous system dysregulation, and difficulty with focus, sleep, or emotional equilibrium. Trained through the Upledger Institute, Dr. Carlone uses exceptionally light touch — typically no more than the weight of a nickel — to sense restrictions in the craniosacral system and facilitate their release, supporting the body’s own self-corrective capacity at the deepest level of the nervous system. This work is particularly well-suited to patients whose pain or dysfunction has a complex, layered quality that hasn’t responded fully to more structural approaches.

A Note on How These Therapies Work Together

These modalities are not a menu to choose from — they are a toolkit, and Dr. Carlone draws from them based on what each patient’s body is asking for in any given session. A session might begin with PEMF to settle the nervous system, move into craniosacral and myofascial work as the tissue opens, and finish with somatic movement to anchor new neuromuscular patterns. Or microcurrent might be applied to a region that’s been slow to heal, creating the cellular conditions for manual work to reach further and hold longer.

The thread that runs through all of it is the same: listening first, then responding with precision, care, and deep respect for the intelligence already present in your body.
